Fjord Tag is a tag arcade set in fjord arenas. Tag patrolling enemies before they tag you. Twenty arenas across four fjord visual themes.
What works is the dash mechanic. A brief dash forward with cooldown gives offensive options without overpowering the player. Skilled use of dash timing converts close-call tags into clean ones.
Twenty arenas with varying patrol patterns. Each arena introduces one new enemy behaviour (slow walkers, fast runners, predictors who anticipate your moves). The variety keeps the format moderate-fresh.
Tested over three Copenhagen Metro commute sessions. Touch swipe with tap-dash works fine. Keyboard arrow keys plus space-bar dash is comfortable on desktop.
Where the design tries hardest is the AI patrol variety. Twenty arenas with twenty distinct enemy mixes. The AI behaviour is the main differentiator across the campaign.
Where I would push back is the absence of multiplayer. Tag is fundamentally a multiplayer format. Single-player tag against AI works but lacks the spontaneity that makes tag interesting. Adding local two-player would have lifted this.
Three stars. Functional tag arcade with thoughtful dash mechanic. Limited by single-player-only design.
